In the words of Cab Calloway, “Everybody eats when they come to my house.” As I mentioned when sharing my cover story in last week’s blog post, I’ve joined one of our local newspapers, the Flathead Beacon, as a food columnist. My first Twice as Tasty column was published this week under a headline from Mr. Hi-De-Ho’s swinging song. You can find it in this week’s print edition or read it online here.
Old friends and followers may recognize some of the dishes and stories I mention in my introductory column. If you’re fairly new to Twice as Tasty, you’ll learn a little more about my inspiration for this blog and how my food writing has evolved to spread beyond its pages. You’ll also get some hints about the recipes and stories I hope to share each week.
Twice as Tasty
With the launch of my weekly Twice as Tasty column for the Flathead Beacon, I’m making a few changes here on the blog. I’ll be reposting links to the column here each week, making it easy for you to see each piece if you follow the blog. The column will give me a chance to share new recipes and put a local spin on eating well year-round. I’ll also be revamping favorite recipes with tweaks and improvements I’ve made since I originally posted them on the blog.
As you’ve seen in recent months, I’ll continue to share my work for other online outlets, including The Spruce Eats, Clean Plates, and Fifth Season. When I feel inspired, new tasty recipes and food ideas will continue to appear exclusively here too. Plus, we’re just a month away from the 5th annual sourdough giveaway. Keep reading, keep cooking, and keep eating well.

I also share tasty ways to use pickles in The Pickled Picnic, a digital collection in an easy-to-read PDF format; it’s only available here.
Great news! Congratulations on your new venture!

I write a food column for our local newspaper and it’s so much fun, and when I’m out in the community I get lots of feedback.
