The Twice as Tasty blog turns 10 years old this month, and it seems both that the decade has just flown by and that I’ve been sharing my love of eating well year-round for far, far longer. I collected my favorite recipes from the decade for you this month in my Twice as Tasty column for the Flathead Beacon. In this blog post, I’ve also gathered blog readers’ favorite recipes into an easily bookmarked collection. Finally, I share some exciting news about upcoming private and public local workshops and my food writing for other publications.
This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without you! Thanks for reading, following, encouraging me, and making your own world twice as tasty.

Twice as Tasty
My favorite recipes aren’t necessarily yours. Blog readers do search most often for sourdough recipes, as well as methods for making shrubs—which I somehow missed including in my top 10 list even though Strawberry-Rhubarb Shrub, Raspberry Shrub Mocktail or Cocktail, and other flavors are in constant rotation at my house. You’re also fans of recipes that use chives or their blossoms, like Tangy, Garlicky Mashed Potatoes, and baking with seasonal fruit in recipes like Sour Cream and Cherry Scones and Double Apple Muffins. Lots of you appear to have batches of Homemade Triple Sec (Orange Liqueur) in the works for summer cocktails and plan to make Overnight Sourdough Pancakes with Frozen Strawberry Syrup for breakfast and Pasta That Pops or Balsamic-Roasted Radishes for dinner this weekend.
These are blog readers’ top 10 all-time favorite recipes and posts.
- Roasted and Smoked Beets with Orange Vinaigrette
- Storing Pickles
- Botulism and Canning Safely
- Preserving Cabbage
- Pickled Eggs
- Zesty Baked Chickpea Snacks
- Ricotta: Fresh and Aged
- Berry Chocolate Muffins
- Herbed Bean Salad
- Sourdough Brioche Dough and Rolls
Blog readers have also been long-time fans of smoked cherries, a technique I’ll be sharing with my latest tips and tricks in my Flathead Beacon column next month. If your favorite Twice as Tasty recipe isn’t on my or readers’ list, you’ll find it in the recipe index or my pickling cookbook.
Other Articles & Workshops

Along with continuing this blog and my Beacon column, I’ve been writing most recently for Simply Recipes and the Kitchn. You’ll find more of my articles there in coming months, including tips on potato storage, recipes for grilled corn salsa and kimchi fried rice, and more reviews of skillets.
To get my latest work for these and other outside publishers, follow Twice as Tasty on social media. I do my best to share my articles on Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, and LinkedIn as soon as they go live.
Local readers will have noticed that I’m teaching private, in-person workshops more often this year, and I’ve made it easier than ever to schedule a workshop. I’m also excited to announce that I will be teaching a series of public cooking workshops this fall at Flathead Valley Community College as part of its continuing education program. Registration for fall class opens August 12. Spaces will be limited, so sign up early.
